Philippe started his career in 1989 in the Patent department of Rhône-Poulenc Santé, in Paris and then in the United States, where he was in charge of the patent portfolio for European Research in the Biotech area. He then joined a patent law firm in Paris in 1997 prior to founding Becker & Associés in 1999.
Philippe has a scientific background in molecular biology as well as in immunology. He received a Master Degree at the University of Nice, France, and graduated from the International Patent Law School (CEIPI) in Strasbourg. He is a registered French Patent Counsel and an authorized European Patent Attorney.
Philippe assists his clients in protecting and defending their innovations worldwide. He also advises his clients in negotiating and drafting IP-related agreements as well as in IP litigations. He has developed a strong expertise in IP due diligences for investors and often assists his clients in IPO process. Philippe particularly likes to design and implement creative patent protection strategies, to analyze competitors’ patent assets and to seek optimal licensing conditions. He is a frequent lecturer for patent matters in Life Science and he is involved in professional associations.
